-Three days of class instruction and bench activities including disassembly, reassembly, synchronizing the strike train, putting in beat & lubricating. On the last day of the class, faults will be introduced into the strike train for you to problem solve! Time permitting, clock movements will undergo either a manual or ultrasonic cleaning process. There will also be an opportunity to learn the basics of a main spring winder.
--New, fully functional India movements will be provided for your use (property of the NAWCC). You may bring your own American time/strike movement if you are sure it has no significant faults (broken main springs, bent/missing teeth, etc.). With participants bringing their own clocks, we can better review similarities and differences between the various Connecticut clock manufacturers. Please send pictures to kdelucca@nawcc.org to have your clock approved.
WHEN: Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, February 13, 14 and 15th, 2024
9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with reading homework assignments.
--Immediately prior to the Florida Mid-Winter Regional (February 16 and 17, 2024).
--Class finishes in time to set up your tables at the Convention Center.
Cost —Class is $850 per person for three days of instruction and opportunity for hands-on application; includes cleaning supplies, lubricants, oilers, textbook and 3 lunches.
Lodging—Renaissance Hotel is Host hotel. Room is $150/night, plus taxes, if booked through Regional by December 1, 2023.
